Profile: Chris Butler, Owner / Master Electrician
In 1998, Chris started his career installing multimedia, satellite and communication systems in the commercial retail and restaurant/hotel industries across Canada. During this time, he was also instrumental in developing a residential division for his company focused on structured wiring and home automation.
When an opportunity arose, Chris moved to Calgary to join a multimedia installation company that was developing a home automation division. This is where his technical, design, programming and project coordination skills were advanced with factory training and project experience.
He then accepted a position with a new business venture that focused on providing complete home automation solutions that included: lighting, HVAC, audio, video, CCTV, communications, data, security, window shading & remote access controls. Starting as a field technician installing and providing service, then he moved into design and project management roles.
With a desire to diversify his skills, he joined an electrical company to complete his apprenticeship and become a Master electrician. He started as an HVAC controls electrician, then expanded into commercial, multi-family, special projects, service and data divisions.
Chris's 20 years of diverse experience includes electrical and automation knowledge for: residential electrical and control projects (new, retrofit and service), commercial electrical projects (new, retrofit and service), commercial HVAC projects (new, retrofit and service), extra low voltage control and automation projects, commissioning and testing of electrical and control systems, and troubleshooting situations.
He has completed training for his apprenticeship, Electrical Master's certification and a number of manufacturers training courses.
